This magnet is made to grade N38SH.  The SH designation means that it can withstand temperatures up to 149c (300F) without losing any of its magnetic properties.  Standard grades without the SH can withstand temperatures up to 79c (175F).  This makes these magnets ideal for high temperature applications.  They are quite popular with some for putting into the oil pans or on oil filters to remove even more particulates.
